This program, is the most easiest way to get PR in the province Quebec and that two in a minor time period . But it is for only two types of applicants ; either for the temporary worker willing to stay in Canada or the student who has completed the post- secondary program in this province can apply for PR after the accomplishment of the Qualified work period or studies.
This procedure involves two steps:
PEQ for international students:
Foreign students who have studied in Quebec may be eligible to apply for a CSQ under PEQ if they:-
- Be at least 18 years old and hold a valid passport
- Display intent to settle in Quebec to hold a job
- Lived temporarily in Quebec for the purposes of the study , at least for the half the duration of the diploma.
- Hold an eligible degree or diploma within past 36 months from an educational institution recognized by the Quebec Ministry of Education have studied in Quebec for at least 1800 hours (2 years) ; and
- Prove that applicant has successfully completed an advanced intermediate level French course at Quebec educational institution , if applicant’s studies were not completed in French , or prove French by the way of a standardized language test recognized by the Govt. of Quebec.
The student will not get CSQ unless they submit the complete transcript and attestation of successful completition of the program to MIDI.
Moreover, student cannot apply for the CSQ 6 months prior to the completion of their program as per the verdict of 1, october ,2018 . They firstly have to submit above mentioned proof’s to MIDI .
PEQ for Temporary foreign worker:
Temporary foreign worker who have studied in Quebec may be eligible to apply for a CSQ under PEQ if they:-
- Be at least 18 years old and hold a valid passport
- Display intent to settle in Quebec to hold a job
- Have stayed in Quebec temporarily for work and have not violated any condition
- Have had full time work experience in Quebec for at least 12 months of the 24 months prior to the submission of an application;
- Have legal status in Quebec as a temporary worker or as part of the youth exchange program , such as international experience Canada (IEC)
- Are employed at the time of the application
- Can show that they have completed an advanced intermediate level French course at Quebec educational institution , if the studies were not completed in French , than prove it by a test at language test by Govt. of Quebec . Or they can show that they have satisfied the French language requirements of the professional order governing their occupation in Quebec.
MIDI does not consider any period of part-time work , self-employment , or entrepreneurial work under the PEQ. A student’s or worker’s spouse , who is working in Quebec on an open work permit , will also qualify for this program if they meet the requirements . Under the regulations of august 2nd, 2018, all occupations are eligible for PEQ , i.e NOC A,B,C,D experience is accepted.
