IRCC has brought out two new pathways for caregivers presently living in Canada to apply for their PR.
NOTE:
The live-in caregiver program is know had been closed for new applicants. New applicants can submit applications under the following types:
- Caring for children class
- Caring for people with high medical needs class
PATHWAYS:
Caring for children class:
In order to qualify for Canadian immigration under this program, individuals must:-
- plan to live outside the province of Quebec
- have at least 24 months of full-time work experience in Canada as a home childcare provider with a valid work permit;
- match the job description of a home childcare provider as defined by the national occupation classification 4411
- finished a 1-year Canadian post-secondary credential or equivalent;
- achieve threshold of Canadian language benchmark (CLB5) for either English or french.
Breaks in work -experience is acceptable and work experience as a student will not count. The acceptability rate is 2750 applicants.
Caring for people with high medical needs:
In order to qualify for Canadian immigration under this program, individuals must:-
- plan to live outside the province of Quebec
- have at least 24 months of full-time work experience in Canada as a registered nurse, registered psychiatric nurse, nurse aid, orderly, home support worker; etc with a valid work permit.
Show a license to practice in the profession in Canada(if applicable):
- finished a one-year Canadian post-secondary credential or equivalent
- achieve a minimum threshold of Canadian language benchmark for either English or french.
- registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses should score CLB 7
- other qualified occupation should score CLB 5
2750 is a maximum acceptable number of candidates under this type.
